"I think it is fair to say that no automaker has a more distinguished record of environmental innovation than does Honda. Since the creation of the CVCC engine in the 1970s, Honda has consistently been at the leading edge of our industry's continuous effort to create cleaner, more fuel-efficient automobiles.

Today, we are once again asserting our technology leadership with Honda Earth Dreams Technology powertrains. The novel two-motor Honda hybrid system represents a new high-water mark for hybrid powertrain fuel efficiency, powering the all-new 2014 Accord Hybrid to an industry-leading 50 mpg EPA city fuel-economy rating. That makes it the most fuel-efficient four-door sedan in America.

We will continue to leverage our investments in original Earth Dreams Technology powertrains to create new value for our customers, with an increasing number of these systems produced here in North America. Over the coming months, we'll be talking more about Honda environmental innovation, powered by our Earth Dreams Technology, as we challenge ourselves to make significant new contributions to the drive for more sustainable mobility."
