Honda is continuing to invest in our production operations in America to advance our longstanding approach to flexible manufacturing, focusing on human-friendly and environmentally responsible processes to achieve the highest levels of quality, efficiency and value for our customers.
Step-by-step, Honda has been expanding production of hybrid-electric vehicles in America, including the two-motor hybrid system, hybrid battery and special Atkinson cycle engine in Ohio, and hybrid vehicles in Ohio and Indiana, using domestic and globally made parts.
Toward the future, we have retooled our existing auto plants in Ohio, along with a new joint venture battery production facility, to add the capability to produce gas-powered, hybrid- and battery-electric vehicles on the same manufacturing line.
Reliable and Convenient Charging Solutions for Honda EV Customers
Honda offers solutions that enable Honda and Acura EV owners in the U.S. to charge their vehicles with peace of mind anywhere they go. This includes home charging options and a range of public charging networks.
In 2024, Honda partnered with seven other automakers to build one of the most accessible and reliable high-powered EV charging networks in North America. This joint venture, IONNA, plans to deploy a minimum of 30,000 chargers by 2030.
IONNA charging stations are accessible to all EV customers, offering both Combined Charging System (CCS) and North American Charging System (NACS) connectors.
Honda and Acura EV owners can also access over 23,500 ports on the Tesla Supercharger network in addition to other open public networks, providing a wide range of charging choices to support daily travel or longer road trips.
The Honda Home Electrification marketplace is designed to make it simple and convenient for Honda EV customers to set up the home charging option that best suits their lifestyle. Customers may also choose to install additional home electrification products, including rooftop solar, home batteries, smart home energy management systems, and heat pump water heaters. These products enable our customers to minimize energy costs and reduce their own environmental impact.
